The entire family of WHUG and Media One Group send our condolences to the family of “Uncle Bruce” Baker who passed away on 5/6/12 after a long battle with sickness. Bruce has been involved with local radio stations since the 1960’s, hosting a country show on WWSE on Saturday and Sunday Nights from 1980-1982 and was Music Director for WHUG from the late 1970’s 1990’s. Bruce started “Huggin’ Standard Time” in 1994 (later becoming “Baker Standard Time”) and had continued to host the weekend program, live, up until his battle with Leukemia began in 2011. Bruce hosted is last program on WHUG on Saturday, April 14, 2012.   If you wish to share your memories about Bruce with our family and his,please click here.
