2007 My Country WHUG Talent Search Rules

1)       Contest is open to all WHUG listeners of any age, however contestants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when performing/attending the contest. Those not eligible to compete include promotional partners or any previous Media One Group LLC/Vox Radio/Trend Broadcasting station sponsored talent contest winner. Also not eligible are employees and immediate families of Media One Group, their successors, agents, affiliates, or subsidiaries and employees of other radio stations.

2)       Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable, or refundable. WHUG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent value should a prize or any portion thereof become unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of WHUG.

3)       Payment of any and all federal, state, and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners are required to sign a waiver-acknowledging acceptance of any prize valued at $600 or more. Winners will receive an IRS 1099 form for prizes valued at $600 or more. The value of the prize will be stated on the waiver and on any and all corresponding tax forms. A winner has the right to forfeit the prize, and another one will not be awarded in its place.

4)       Winners must pick up prizes Monday-Friday 9am-5pm at WHUG 2 Orchard Rd, Jamestown, NY 14701. Picture identification is required. Winners forfeit prizes not claimed within 30 days of winning.

5)       For prizes valued at $600 or more winners and participants must sign a liability waiver prior to receipt of the prize. Pursuant to the liability waiver, winners and participants agree to hold WHUG and Media One Group LLC, their corporate licensees, parent corporations, promotional partners, sponsors and officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims and/or liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the prize and/or contest.

6)       By participating in contests, winners and participants agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to contests and must sign a waiver stating so prior to receipt of the prize.

7)       All qualifying contestants will be required to perform at all scheduled performances or will forfeit eligibility in the WHUG Talent Search competition.

8)       All rulings by the judges are final, and will not be disputed.

9)       There is no purchase necessary to participate in WHUG contests.

10)    Contests void where prohibited by law.

11)    Contest rules are available during regular business hours at WHUG 2 Orchard Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.

12) WHUG reserves the right to amend contest rules anytime. Any changes to rules are available in writing and effective upon announcement. The decision of WHUG management with regard to WHUG contests is final. By participating in contests, entrants, winners and guests agree to be bound by contest rules. Failure to comply with contest rules may result in disqualification.

General Contest Rules

My Country (WHUG 101.9 FM) has a set of general contest rules that are in effect during the year. At times, special contests and promotions require the establishment of a separate set of rules. Here are our general contest rules.

1. All on-air contests indicate the prizes to be awarded and their method of entry.

2. Contest methods may include random telephone selection, postcard entry, printed entry blanks and website Internet entry.

3. When any contest has a deadline for entry, the deadline is clearly indicated in on-air promotional announcements and any written rules.

4. Contests and promotions are open to listeners ages 18 or older unless otherwise indicated. Any contest including alcohol is open to only those 21 years in age or older. ID must be presented at front desk when picking up prize.

5. The radio stations reserve the right to limit the winning of prizes to once every 30 days per household. The radio stations limit the winning of major prizes to once every 12 months.

6. Winners are responsible for all federal, state and local taxes, if any. All federal, state and local laws apply. Winners are responsible for delivery costs.

7. No purchase is necessary to participate in contests and promotions.

8. There are no prize substitutions. Prizes are non-transferable and are not negotiable. Prizes can't be exchanged for cash. Radio Station may substitute another prize of equal or greater value for the original prize if the announced prize becomes unavailable.

9. Some prizes have restrictions, or expiration dates and do not include gratuities.

10.The radio stations are not responsible for any prize mailed by request. Winners are urged to pick up their prize at the radio station. Prizes to be picked up at the station will be held for 30 days. After that the prize will be forfeited...

11.Employees of Media One Group LLC and any other sponsors are not eligible to win. Contests are not open to owners, officers, employees, consultants or advertising-marketing agencies of the radio stations.

12.By participating, winners grant permission for their voice and telephone call to be recorded and re-broadcast for promotional use on the radio station.

13.The radio stations reserve the right to amend or change the above rules at anytime as well as end a contest at anytime. All decisions of station management with regard to the awarding of prizes, the selection of winners and the interpretation of these rules shall be final. Each contestant by virtue of entering a station contest agrees to accept the decision of the station as final.
